John 1:42

John 1:42 And he brought him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is translated, A Stone).

Lord Jesus Christ is God of wisdom and power. He is Alpha and Omega and He knows from the end to the beginning. He chooses His disciples before the foundation of the world. He will know them before they were formed in the mother’s womb and call them.

He has chosen the disciple Peter and called him by His name and said you are Simon the son of Jonah, you shall be called Cephas. Which is translated, A stone. God chosen Peter and saw him and called him and given new name.

Jesus Christ transformed Peter and anointed him with the Holy Spirit and given him a new name. Jesus loved him and helped him when he stumbled. Jesus given him strength and courage to stand firm in faith for the Lord and do the work of the Jesus. Jesus said to Peter from now you feed My sheep.

Called – Abram

Genesis 12:1,4 Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you.

4 So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.

Genesis 17:5,6 No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.

6 I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you.

Genesis 15:6 And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.

God has chosen Abram before he was born and saw him. He called Abram and spoke with him and revealed His plan with Abram. God said see I have chosen you and you are mine. You are called to come out the place where you live and go to the land that I will show you. Abram obeyed the command of God and departed from Haran to the land God showed.

God said to Abram you are no longer will be called Abram, but your name shall be called Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. Abraham was the father of faith. He has become a great person and God blessed him abundantly and was fruitful in all things. Abraham obeyed the voice of God and believed and was blessed by God. Abram was called as Abraham by God.

Called – Sarai

Faith

Genesis 17:15-16 Then God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name.

16 And I will bless her and also give you a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her.”

Hebrews 11:11By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.

God has chosen the wife of Abraham Sarai. He saw her before she was born and chosen and called her to be His child. God has chosen her to bear a child called Issac and bring blessing to many. She was barren for a long time and in great distress. God finally remembered Sarai and blessed her with a child and called the child Issac.

God blessed Sarai in all things and called her name Sarah. God said from now you are called Sarah, but not Sarai. Sarah trusted in God and had faith in the word of God and received strength to conceive see in the old age. She bore a child when she was past the age.

Come to Lord Jesus Christ and surrender your life to Jesus Christ. He will come into your life and bless you with eternal salvation. He will fill your life with great joy and peace. He will deliver you from all sin and destruction and give eternal life. He will lead you in green pastures and still waters. He is God who lives forever and takes care of His children till the end and lead them into eternal glory.

PRAYER:
Loving heavenly Father, I come before You just as I am. Please forgive me for all my sins and cleanse me with the precious blood of Jesus. Redeem my life from destruction and crown me with Your mercy. Fill my heart with Your love and truth. Thank you Lord for forgiving me and accepting me and giving me eternal life. Fill me with the power of resurrection. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
