Jesus Christ Said I Saw You

I Saw

Chosen

John 1:48

John 1:48 Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”

Lord Jesus Christ is God almighty. He knows from the end to beginning. He knows about everything and watches over everybody. He is the Alpha and Omega and He lives forever. He has chosen His disciples before they found Him. He has chosen them before they were born.

He saw them and called them to be His disciples. They did not choose Him, but Jesus has chosen them and called them to follow Him. They obeyed His voice and followed Jesus Christ. They were all blessed by His heavenly blessings and could enter into eternal glory. He saw Nathanael when he was under the fig tree.

Nathanael did not know Jesus. But when he was introduced to Jesus and Jesus said I saw you before you come here. You are chosen by God and disciple to follow. What a great thing it is that Jesus could see Nathanael before He could find Jesus. Because Jesus saw him and chosen him, he could come to Jesus and follow Him.

I Saw – Elect

1 Peter 1:2 elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ according to His foreknowledge elected His disciples and sanctified by the Spirit of God for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. He saw you and elected you to be His child and serve Him and do good works. He saw you and elect you before the foundation of the world, He has sanctified you by His precious blood and lead you to salvation. He saw you and set apart from worldly ways and cleansed you and making you as child of God.

I Saw – Ordained

Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born, I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

Lord Jesus Christ saw you before you are born. He saw you before you are formed in the mother’s womb. He says before you are formed in your mother’s womb, I saw you and sanctified you and I ordained you to be a prophet to the nations. He saw Jeremiah the prophet before He was born and ordained Him as prophet of God.

God used Him mightily. Jeremiah was sanctified and ordained by God almighty. God was with him in all trials and tribulations and rescued him. God strengthened him and guide him in right path. He did not leave him till the end. God was speaking to Jeremiah and Jeremiah was talking to the children of God.

God revealed to Jeremiah many things before it happens and all the prophecies given by Jeremiah fulfilled. He saw Jeremiah and ordained Him. He will bless and anoint them with Holy Spirit. His presence will be with them always.

Come to Lord Jesus Christ and follow His commandments. He will come to you and bless you with everlasting salvation and peace and joy. In this world you don’t get true peace and joy. Jesus Christ is the prince of peace and true living God. He will guide you and lead you in green pastures and still waters. He will meet all your needs.

Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

Pray to Jesus Christ

PRAYER:
Loving heavenly Father, I come before You just as I am. Please forgive me for all my sins and cleanse me with the precious blood of Jesus. Redeem my life from destruction and crown me with Your mercy. Fill my heart with Your love and truth. Thank you Lord for forgiving me and accepting me and giving me eternal life. Fill me with the power of resurrection. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

  1. The Lord Jesus Christ is our God, Lord our maker , protector, deliverer, guardian, brother and finally our REDEEMER when he died on the cross for our sin. You’re sermon this morning touched all the salient points in showing that he knew us , separated us like his disciples and prophets for every good work. I thank you for brightening my days with these dews from above. May the Lord continue to give you grace and strength for more good works. I appreciate you.

What touches me about Nathanael’s story is not simply that Jesus saw him, but that He saw him completely. Nathanael had already questioned whether anything good could come out of Nazareth, yet Jesus did not introduce him by his skepticism. He looked deeper and said, “Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!” (John 1:47).

That encourages me. Christ sees the questions, weaknesses, unfinished places, and things nobody else knows about us, but He also sees what His grace can make of a surrendered life. We tend to introduce ourselves to God with a résumé of everything that is wrong with us. Meanwhile, He is already looking farther down the road.

There is something wonderfully comforting about realizing that when I finally turn toward Jesus, I never catch Him saying, “Oh! I didn’t see you there.” He saw me coming all along. 😊

  3. Beautiful! I love that quote from the scripture. That God sees us coming from a long way off, like the father of the Prodigal son. Beautiful! And just like his father, our Heavenly Father will always come running 🏃‍♂️ to us! Thanks for sharing!
