Jesus Christ Said Make The People Sit Down

A man speaking gently to a woman seated on the floor indoors with two people working at a table behind them

Sit Down

Order

Mark 6:39-42

Mark 6:39-42 39 Then He commanded them to make them all sit down in groups on the green grass.

40 So they sat down in ranks, in hundreds and in fifties.

41 And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and the two fish He divided among them all.

42 So they all ate and were filled.

Lord Jesus Christ great compassion towards His people. He wants to bless His people always and meet their needs. He does wonders and miracles. He is miracle working God and always do good to His people. He was moved with compassion when He saw the multitude thronged towards Him and were with Him and listening to Him. He spoke many things and taught them about the kingdom of God.

He gave spiritual food and physical food. He satisfied them with good food. He blessed the fives loaves and two fishes and gave to all eat. Before performing miracle, He ordered all people to sit down in order. All are in disorder way. But Jesus is God of order and discipline. He orders the multitudes to sit down in order. They obeyed the command of Jesus and sat down in order.

They all sat down in groups and in ranks, in hundreds and in fifties. When Jesus saw everything in order, He did a miracle by feeding more than five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish. He multiplied the loaves and fish all ate sufficiently and were filled. God always watch the order in every life and in every church. He is God of order and peace. There should not be any confusion and disorder in the churches of the saints.

Sit Down – Listen

Luke 10:38-40 38 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house.

39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word.

40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore, tell her to help me.”

Mary was sitting at the feet of Jesus and listening to Him. But Martha was distracted with much serving. She was thinking about many things and distracted. She did not come to the feet of Jesus and sat down. Always busy with her work. But Jesus said to Martha you are worried about many things, but Mary has chosen the good part which will not be taken away from her.

It is always good to sit down at the feet of Jesus and listen to Him and learn from Him and receive strength and courage to lead in right path. Jesus always longs for His people to come and sit at His feet and to listen to Him. But many believers in this world are distracted by many things and lost the precious thing at the feet of Jesus. Sit down at the feet of Jesus and listen to Him. He will speak to you and bless you.

Sit Down – Separate

Matthew 13:48 which, when it was full, they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away.

2 Corinthians 6:17 Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.

Sit down and separate good from bad. It is always good to separate all good people and righteous people from unrighteous. Be away from all unrighteous people and follow Christ Jesus always. Do not have close relationship with unbelievers.

Protect yourself from ungodly influence. Separate yourself from all heathen practices and lead a holy life. Let the congregation be holy and separated for God. Keep away from all ungodly people. Consecrate yourself for God and walk upright. Sit down and examine yourself and separate from all filthy and worldly practices.

Sit Down – Watch

Matthew 26:36,38 36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.

38 Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.

Lord Jesus Christ said to His disciples sit here while I go over there and pray. He commanded them to sit, but not wander. He wants His disciples to watch and pray in the hour temptation. He said sit here and keep watch with Me in prayer. So that you will not fall into temptation. Always good to sit in the presence of God and pray to God. You will receive strength to withstand the temptation and stay strong. With prayer you can overcome all temptations. Sit down in the presence of God and spend time in prayer seeking His mercy. Watch and pray it is the will of God.

Sit Down – Revelation

Matthew 24:3-4 3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” They said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.

Jesus Christ sat down on the mount of Olives with His disciples. Then disciples asked Him privately, tell us the sign of your coming and the end of the age. Then Jesus answered them and told the sings to watch. Jesus revealed the mysteries to His disciples when they were with Him sitting down at His feet.

Come to His presence and sit down in the presence of Jesus and ask. He will answer your prayer and reveal to you the secrets hidden. When you are distracted and wandering around, He cannot reveal the mysteries and the things to happen. Sit down in His presence and speak to Him.

Come to Lord Jesus Christ and follow His commandments. He will come to you and bless you with gift of eternal salvation. He is God who speaks and will listen to your prayers and help you in all things. He is great God and do wonders and miracles in your life. He will lead you in green pastures and still waters and bless you with eternal peace and joy.

Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

Pray to Jesus Christ

I love this passage… They had no way of knowing how He would feed such a great multitude, yet they were invited to obey first and understand later.

I wonder how often the Lord asks the same of us. We may not be told exactly how He will provide or solve the problem before us, but He does ask us to trust Him enough to take the next step in faith. Sometimes sitting down is an act of surrender that quietly says, “Lord, I don’t see the answer yet, but I believe You do.” It is often in that place of simple trust that we discover His provision has been there all along.
