Seek Me

Matthew 6:33-34

Kingdom of God

33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Lord Jesus Christ said first seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Seeking things first kingdom of God then all things will be added to you. Leaving the kingdom of God and seeking the things of the world will not give you salvation. First you must be born again and receive Jesus Christ in your heart and follow Him daily.

Walk in His footsteps then He will give all things need for you. You cast your burden upon Him then He will take care of your needs. Seeking the kingdom of God is priority to everyone to receive eternal blessing. Every good gift comes from above. He is good God and gives good gifts to His children. Seeking the kingdom of God is seeking our creator who provides all our needs.

Do not worry about tomorrow, for God will take care of you. Give first place to God in all things. Seek Him always and allow His rule in your life. What stands out to me is that seeking God’s kingdom is much more than simply making Him our first priority—it is allowing Him to become the center from which every other priority flows. Jesus did not say, “Seek the kingdom after you’ve secured everything else.” He said, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God” (Matthew 6:33). The beautiful promise is that when God is first, everything else finds its proper place.

I also think there is a difference between seeking God’s hand and seeking His face. Many people seek what God can give, but Scripture repeatedly calls us to seek God Himself. David wrote, “When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek” (Psalm 27:8). The closer we draw to Christ, the more we discover that His greatest gift is not merely provision, strength, or even answered prayer—it is His presence.

What comforts me is that Jesus connects seeking with freedom from anxiety. Worry is often our attempt to carry tomorrow before it arrives. Faith places tomorrow back into the hands of the One who is already there. The same God who fed Elijah by the brook, sustained Israel in the wilderness, and watches over the sparrows has not lost track of His children today. As we seek Him daily, He not only prepares a place for us in eternity, but also gives us the grace needed for this day’s journey.
