Jesus Christ Said Watch-PT2

Be Watchful

Mark 13:35-37

Ready

35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning—

36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping.

37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”

Lord Jesus Christ said be watchful and vigilant for when the master of the house is coming you do not know in the evening or midnight or in the morning. But be watchful and do not sleep and negligent. Do not be careless of His coming. He may come at any moment and be ready always and be prepared for His second coming to judge the nations.

He is coming again as a judge and judgement will be done. He judge all righteously. All those who are not watchful will be left behind and face tribulations. But those who are watchful and ready will go in rapture and be with the Lord forever. Do not be careless and do not sleep as others do but watch and be sober always. Do not be slothful and lazy.

Watchful – Wise

Matthews 25:1-4,13 1“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.

2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,

4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

Lord Jesus Christ said be watchful and wise. Be wise and filled with oil in your lamps. Be filled with the Holy Spirit always and have fellowship with Lord Jesus Christ always. Lead a holy life and life pleasing to God. Always carry oil that is Holy Spirit.

Do not grieve the Holy Spirit and He will leave. Obey the voice of the Holy Spirit and walk according to His direction. You do not know the hour in which the Lord Jesus Christ comes back so be watchful and filled with Holy Spirit.

The extra oil the wise virgin carry is the readiness to meet the Lord Jesus Christ when He comes. Do not be like foolish virgins who are not prepared and ready to meet the Lord. Be like wise virgins who are ready and prepared and diligent and carry extra oil.

Watchful – Burning

Luke 12:35-37 35“Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning;

36 and you yourselves are like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately.

37 Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching.

Lord Jesus Christ said be watchful and let your lamps burning. Do not quench the Holy Spirit in you. But always burn for the Lord and do work for the Lord. Wait for His coming and when He comes and knocks you may open to Him immediately.

Blessed are the servants whom the master, when He comes, will find watching. But not sleeping and slothful. Let your waist be girded and be ready always for His coming. Be ready and vigilant and dedicate to Lord’s work. Always live in constant readiness for His coming.

Jesus Christ said the sings of His coming in the scriptures. Jesus Christ clearly explained the signs of His coming and the end of the age. Therefore be watchful and see the sings happening around the world and be prepared.

Come to Lord Jesus Christ and surrender your life to Him. Jesus Christ is true living God. He gives eternal salvation and peace to you. He will come to you and be with you. He will be your God always till the end and lead you into eternal life. Jesus Christ is coming soon and be ready to meet Him and enter into His glory. Be watchful and vigilant always and lead a holy life.

Pray to Jesus Christ

PRAYER:
Loving heavenly Father, I come before You just as I am. Please forgive me for all my sins and cleanse me with the precious blood of Jesus. Redeem my life from destruction and crown me with Your mercy. Fill my heart with Your love and truth. Thank you Lord for forgiving me and accepting me and giving me eternal life. Fill me with the power of resurrection. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

    One thought that really stood out to me is that all ten virgins were waiting for the bridegroom, and all ten apparently fell asleep at some point. The difference was not perfection, but preparation. The wise had oil when the midnight cry came. That has always been sobering to me because it reminds us that outward association with truth is not the same as inward connection with Christ.

    Also, I appreciate the emphasis on keeping the lamps burning. In Scripture, oil consistently points to the work of the Holy Spirit, but a lamp has to be maintained. If neglected, even a good lamp grows dim. Prayer, time in the Word, surrender, obedience, and even the little daily choices all matter more than we sometimes realize. Zechariah 4:6 comes to mind: “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”

    One thing I would add is that watching for Christ’s coming should not produce fear-filled panic, but faithful living. Jesus wants His people awake spiritually, not anxiously staring at the sky every five minutes like nervous weather reporters. The servant found watching in Luke 12 was simply faithfully doing what the master had given him to do. That kind of readiness becomes a steady way of life. The closer we walk with Jesus daily, the less His coming feels frightening and the more it becomes a blessed hope.
