Feed my Lambs
John 21:15
15So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?”
He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”
He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”
Jesus Christ after resurrection from dead met His disciples and spoke with His disciple Peter and asking him do you love me peter. Then peter answered yes Lord and you know that I love you. Here you find the question of Jesus Christ to peter and answer from Peter.
Jesus asked peter to make him confess with His mouth that he loves Jesus Christ, because with the same mouth peter denied Jesus three times. But here peter confesses that he loves Jesus Christ more than all. Then Jesus entrusted him the work to do. That is feed my lambs. Encouraging the believers in Christ and strengthen them in word. It is a care and guidance to keep them in faith and right path. It is a great work and commission from the Lord Jesus Christ.
After knowing Jesus Christ as your personal savior and tasted His love and compassion then share your experience with others and tell them about Jesus Christ. Feed the lambs. After a person becomes the child of God he needs spiritual food. Teach the word and preach the word.
We are to tend, care for, and provide spiritual food for God’s people, to nourish and care for their souls.
Following His command in doing work you will receive great reward in heaven. If you really love Jesus Christ then you will follow His commandments.
John 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love
John 14:15 If you love Me, keep My commandments.
Love and obedience
When you love Jesus Christ then you will obey His commandments and do His work as He said. It is love in action. It is the love for Jesus Christ leads you to obedience.
If you believe in Jesus Christ follow His commandments and do His work. Feeding the lambs and taking care of them spiritually. Faithful service and devotion towards His work will be rewarded.
I Corinthians 3:8 and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.
Ruth 2:12 The Lord repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the Lord God of Israel
What a great blessing we have in Jesus Christ and following His commandments and doing His work and feeding His lambs.
