He Departs
1 Samuel 4:21-22
Glory
21 Then she named the child Ichabod, saying, “The glory has departed from Israel!” because the ark of God had been captured and because of her father-in-law and her husband.
22 And she said, “The glory has departed from Israel, for the ark of God has been captured.”
Lord Jesus Christ is God of glory and majesty. He is God who is holy and He dwells in Holy place. He said be holy as I am holy. He sees holiness among His people. He departs from among His people where there is no holiness. Without holiness you can’t see God. He departed from Israel because there is no holiness in the sanctuary.
When Gods glory departs the people of God lose protection of God and the enemy will invade and destroy them. The divine blessings removed. The enemy defeated Israel and captured the ark of God. All Israel were put to shame and sorrow. The glory of and the presence of God had departed.
He Departs – Disobedient
Judges 16:20 20 and she said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” So he awoke from his sleep, and said, “I will go out as before, at other times, and shake myself free!” But he did not know that the Lord had departed from him.
God departed from the Samson whom He has chosen for His purpose to be fulfilled. He was chosen. He was given divine strength to defeat the enemy. This strength was meant to bring deliverance for His people, Israel, from the Philistines. But Samson did not lead a holy life and was disobedient to God’s commandment. He revealed his secret to the enemy and lost the presence of God.
He was defeated by the enemy and kept in prison by the enemy. He became a mockery among his enemies. He became blind and weak. The enemy captured him and kept him in persecution. He was in great agony and pain in the prison of enemy. He became weak and blind and defeated when he lost the presence of God. Darkness covered his life.
He Departs – Adultery
Psalms 51:11-12 11 do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit
The presence of God departed from King David when he commits sin of adultery and murder. It is abominable in the sight of God. The holy God cannot tolerate the sin committed by David and God’s presence departed from David. David lost the presence of God. He became vulnerable and enemy attacked him.
He lost his throne and honor. He left the palace and ran into the wilderness. In agony, he cried to God to forgive him. He was cast away from the presence of God. The Holy Spirit left him and he became weak and fear overcomes him. He felt abandoned by the God and was alone. It is darkest period for King David. Though he was anointed king but when he commits sin lost the presence of God.
He Departs – Reject
Mark 5:17-18 17 Then they began to plead with Him to depart from their region.
18 And when He got into the boat,
Lord Jesus Christ departed from their place because they rejected Him and said departs from here. They don’t want Jesus Christ. They want to continue in their old traditions and practices. They don’t want their lives to be transformed and be like children of God. The fear instilled in them by enemy made them to reject Jesus Christ.
They thought they will lose everything they have and rejected the God who gives them eternal salvation and peace. They don’t want to get delivered from the bondage of Satan and fear. When they rejected Christ Jesus they rejected deliverance from all bondage. They lost the great blessing of deliverance from sin. They rejected the divine power of Jesus Christ.
He Departs – Unbelief
Hebrews 3:18-19 18 and against whom did he swear that they would never enter his rest, if not against the ones who were disobedient?
19 We see that they couldn’t enter because of their lack of faith.
God was not pleased with the people of Israel. God did mighty miracles and wonders before them and brought them out of the bondage of Egypt. But they did not obey the commandments of God and did not believe the word of God. Their unbelief made them to fall in the wilderness. They could not enter into the land of Canaan the land of blessing and peace.
It is their unbelief they lost the presence of God and blessings of God. God left them in the wilderness and they perished in the wilderness because of their unbelief. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Have faith in God always. Trust His promise. Obey His commandments and you will possess the land of Canaan. They could not enter the Promised Land because of their unbelief.
Invite Him
Revelation 3:20 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
Lord Jesus Christ standing at the door of you heart and knocking. If you open and invite Jesus Christ into your heart, He will come in. He will be with you. He will dine with you. He will bless you in all things. Welcome Jesus Christ into your life and into your family. He is waiting outside to come in. Welcome Jesus Christ and accept Him as your savior and Lord of your life. He will give you eternal salvation and peace. Have faith always in Him and follow His commandments.
Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
Pray to Jesus Christ
