Necessary
Luke 24:46
46Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day.
Jesus Christ, after resurrection from the dead, met His disciples. He talked to them and explained the scriptures written about his sufferings and death. He also explained His resurrection on the third day.
He said thus it is written in the scriptures about Him. It is necessary for the Christ to suffer. He needs to rise from the dead on the third day.
He emphasizes that it is written in the scriptures and it is necessary. Great truth revealed about Him. The written word in the scriptures must be fulfilled. And so it will be done. Jesus came to fulfill the scriptures.
Matthew 5:17 -18 17“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
18For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
What is written in the scriptures will be fulfilled. He didn’t abolish the law and the prophets. Instead, He completed and finished the work. The work of salvation for entire humanity.
He suffered on the cross for the remission of sins of the whole world. It was necessary for Christ to suffer. Unless He suffers there is no remission of sin.
Hebrews 9:22. 22And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
Christ suffered for us all. He gave His life for us all to give us the eternal life. It is necessary for Him to suffer and die and rise again third day.
I peter 3:18 18For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit.
He suffered for our sins to make us as the children of God. He never sinned but He died to bring us to God.
II Corinthians 5:21 21For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
To become the righteousness of God in Him Jesus suffered and died and rose again third day. Jesus Christ sinless became sin for us so that through Him we become the righteousness of God. He died on our behalf. He suffered on our behalf. It is a substitutionary atonement. He took our sins upon Himself and offers us His righteousness.
What a great sacrifice it is. Jesus Sacrifice on the cross and the sufferings and death. God shows great love towards humanity. It was necessary for Him to suffer, die, and rise again on the third day. To save us it is necessary. He acts as a substitute for humanity. No other way for the humanity to be saved from their sin and have peace with God. It is only through Jesus Christ.
Come to Jesus Christ and pray and accept His suffering and death and resurrection on third day. Accept Him and your Savior and King of your life. Invite Him. In Jesus Christ you receive full salvation and peace and eternal life.
Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
Pray to Jesus Christ
