RECEIVE POWER

John 20:21-22 21

So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” 22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ after resurrection from dead appeared to His disciples and blessed them saying Peace to You and He breathed on them said receive power that is Holy Spirit.

You need power of God to sustain in this dark world. You may be facing lot of temptations in your life. You alone cannot overcome the temptation you are facing. Jesus Knowing the situations the disciples face in their life’s breathed on them. Jesus’ command is both a promise and an empowerment. The Holy Spirit is, essential for guiding, comforting, and empowering believers. 

Luke 22:31-32 31  And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

In this verse it is said that Jesus warns Peter that Satan will try to shake his faith, as a farmer shakes wheat to separate it from the chaff. This is a warning that even those who follow Jesus will face trials and tests of their faith. Satan wants to shake peters faith that he would fall proving that he lacks strength and faith. Therefore you need the power of God the Holy Spirit help to stand firm for Christ Jesus in this dark world. It is warning for all followers of Jesus. It acknowledges that the Satan will try to test and weaken believers, but they should not be afraid, but rather seek God’s strength and rely on his grace. 

Empowers us to do His work. So it appears, that it is the Spirit of God, who, by His gifts and grace, makes and qualifies us to be ministers of the Gospel;

We need the power of God to sustain in faith and to do His work. It is the Holy Spirit gives us strength and grace to move forward.

What a great blessing we have in Jesus Christ. Seek Him and pray to Him. Wait upon Him to empower you. Ask God to give His power.

Come to Jesus and pray. 

PRAYER:
Loving heavenly Father, I come before You just as I am. Please forgive me for all my sins and cleanse me with the precious blood of Jesus. Redeem my life from destruction and crown me with Your mercy. Fill my heart with Your love and truth. Let my life be a testimony of Your grace. Thank You for giving me a new, Christ-filled life. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
