RECEIVE STRENGTH
John 19:20-21
19 Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 20 When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
In these verses Jesus Christ appears to His disciples and showed them His hands and His side. Strengthening them in their weakness. They were in great distress and afraid and disbelief. The disciples are in a state of disbelief and fear. To dispel all their fear anxiety and disbelief He appeared to them and showed Himself to them. Said I am raised from dead and alive forever more. Jesus, who had been crucified and resurrected, makes a surprising appearance to his disciples.
Mark 16:14 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.
Jesus appearance and rebuking unbelief and lack of faith
Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubbornness and refused to believe those who had seen him.
Lack of Faith and Hardness of heart and stubbornness
These things Jesus rebuked them and strengthen them by showing various proofs of His Resurrection. Doing many miracles before them.
The Bible says in
Acts 1:3 To whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.
He provided convincing evidence of his resurrected body and then taught them about the Kingdom of God.
He Presented Himself alive and many proofs he showed and speaking about the Kingdom of God.
Thus He strengthened them and dispels all unbelief and fear in them and equipped them to do His work.
His power enables us and strengthens us in all our weakness and sorrows and lifts us up. What a blessing we have in resurrected Jesus Christ.
We can find strength in our weakness and spiritual strength to continue in our faith and resist the temptation.
This strength comes from Lord Jesus Christ. He is the ultimate source of power and strength.
Do not fear. Have faith in Jesus Christ and get strength from Him. Rely on Jesus Christ. He is the true source of power.
Come to Jesus and pray.
