Do Not Be Afraid: Jesus’ Comfort and Assurance

DO NOT BE AFRAID

Revelation 1:17

And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.

Jesus Christ after resurrection from dead and ascended into Heaven there He appeared to John the Beloved disciple in a vision and said do not be afraid. I am the first and the last.  This says Jesus’ resurrection, his victory over death, and his authority over the afterlife. Jesus then reaches out to John, reassuring him and identifying himself as “the first and the last”. He is the First and the Last points to His eternal existence and authority.

Jesus, in a Loving gesture, places His right hand on John and says, “Do not be afraid”. What a care and love in Jesus Christ. In Jesus we have comfort and care.

The Bible says in Isaiah 49:15

“Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely, they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.

What a great blessing in Jesus Christ. This verse says God’s unwavering commitment to his people, even when they feel forgotten or abandoned,

  • God’s unwavering commitment
  • God’s unwavering care
  • God’s unwavering assurance.

When you are in His care. You are in in His remembrance always.

The Bible Says in Psalms 136:23

Who remembered us in our lowly state, For His mercy endures forever;

The phrase “low estate” can be related to various hardships, including physical suffering, poverty, or spiritual distress.

Lord Jesus Christ God from eternity to eternity says I am with you. Do not be afraid. Trust in me and follow me and my commandments.

In whatever state you may be come to Jesus Christ who lives forever. And he will take care of you.

PRAYER:
Loving heavenly Father, I come before You just as I am. Please forgive me for all my sins and cleanse me with the precious blood of Jesus. Redeem my life from destruction and crown me with Your mercy. Fill my heart with Your love and truth. Let my life be a testimony of Your grace. Thank You for giving me a new, Christ-filled life. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
